I went to watch this movie only for two reasons!!! One - Riteish Deshmukh and second - Ayesha Takia!! That's it!!! The promos also looked good, something that I can describe as "crowd pullers". So with these kind of expectations I stepped into the theatre!!!
Here is the story -
Paglu (Ritiesh), Amu (Ayesha) and Abhi (Aftaab) are three buddies. Buddies like the way we see in sitcom 'Friends'!!! Good enough to do anything for each other!!!! They will be happy, sad, angry etc etc. everything together and they have a tree house too!!!
Abhi is rich businessman (never looks like he is heading a company!!!) and he has one more trait!!! He falls for every beautiful woman that crosses him!!! Paglu is more of a happy-go-lucky kinds who believes only in one thing i.e. friendship. Amu is a girl but is never treated like a girl till the time she realises her love for Abhi.
Everything is rosy till this point of time!!! In comes Kaarthika (Rimi) in Abhi's life which is hated by Paglu and Amu. Paglu, realising that Amu loves Abhi and understanding Kaarthika's evil plan, attempts to create environment for Abhi and Amu to blossom their relation and take it to next step. The plans are foiled by Kaarthika. She also creates rift between the friends. But Paglu has something else on his mind and with Amu he kidnaps Kaarthika. Then he starts unfolding Karthika's past and her plans. Meanwhile Abhi sobs for Kaarthika ditchy behaviour.
- So what will happen to Abhi's future? Will he be able to recover from the situation?
- Will Paglu and Amu be successful in unfolding Kaarthika's plan?
- What happens to Amu's love for Abhi?
But there are moments of laughter where Paglu threatens Kaarthika to make her forcefully watch "Ram Gopal Varma ki Aag" or Abhi proposing Amu. I wish the story writer and teller could have been a little bit more creative.
Director - Mr. E. Niwas (known more for his dark films like "Shool") does a strictly OKAY job over here. Some scenes are being shot very nicely but the unfortunate part is they are very few. Editing could have been tight. Screenplay is too loose to describe. There is something wrong about the climax which perhaps none of us in the theatre was able to understand.
Music is average too!!! Apart from the title track that comes up in the end, nothing works. There is an item song with Rosa (Saif's Ex) which erupts from nowhere and makes no impact.
As per the expectations, Riteish does a great job in making us laugh!!! If the movie is bearable, then its only because of him!!! Ayesha Takia is cute and acts her part nicely!!! Rimi does a great job in the first half but unconvincing in the second half!!! Check out for her giggle!!! Its really funny!!! Fine Actors like Pawan Malhotra, Saurabh Shukla and Rasika Joshi are absolutely wasted. Mukul Dev hams!!!
But the revelation is Aftab!! I hardly liked this guy earlier!!! But he does a fine job over here!!! One taali for him!!!
In the end, Mr. E Niwas has to understand that he has not got taali's for some of his earlier films and this movie is no exception!!!!
